   Hi, I’m Izzie and this is my blog about the most unusual places in the world. Today I’m writing about Australia! — Привет, я Изи, и это мой блог о самых необычных местах в мире. Сегодня я пишу об Австралии!
   Australia is a continent and it’s also an English-speaking country. Its capital is Canberra and three of its largest cities are Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Australia is the sixth largest country in the world, but only about twenty-five million people live there. Desert covers most of the land, so about eighty percent of the people live on the coast. The climate is better there. But some people live in unusual places. One of them is a small town called Coober Pedy. — Австралия — это континент, а также англоязычная страна. Её столица Канберра, а три крупнейших города — Сидней, Мельбурн и Брисбен. Австралия шестая по величине страна в мире, но там живёт всего около двадцати пяти миллионов человек. Большую часть территории занимает пустыня, поэтому около восьмидесяти процентов населения живут на побережье. Климат там лучше. Но некоторые люди живут в необычных местах. Одно из таких — маленький городок под названием Кубер-Педи.
   Coober Pedy is in the South Australian desert. On summer days, it can be as hot as 47°C! For this reason, more than half the people live under the ground. The temperature is always comfortable there. Underground homes have kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living rooms. Everyday life in Coober Pedy is not very different from any other town. People go to work or school, do their household chores, watch TV and spend time with friends and family. — Кубер-Педи находится в пустыне Южной Австралии. Летом температура может достигать 47°C! По этой причине более половины жителей живут под землёй. Там всегда комфортная температура. Подземные дома имеют кухни, ванные комнаты, спальни и гостиные. Повседневная жизнь в Кубер-Педи мало чем отличается от жизни в других городах: люди ходят на работу или в школу, занимаются домашними делами, смотрят телевизор и проводят время с друзьями и семьёй.
   Coober Pedy has lots of visitors every year. People come to stay in the underground hotels. There are also underground shops, cafés and museums. On summer nights, when it isn’t too hot, people can go above the ground and play golf in the world’s only golf course without grass. It’s not easy to lose golf balls because they are glow-in-the-dark! — Кубер-Педи каждый год принимает много посетителей. Люди приезжают, чтобы остановиться в подземных отелях. Там также есть подземные магазины, кафе и музеи. Летом, когда не слишком жарко, люди могут выходить на поверхность и играть в гольф на единственном в мире поле для гольфа без травы. Потерять мячики для гольфа сложно, потому что они светятся в темноте!

I would like to visit Coober Pedy in Australia. It is a small town and very interesting because more than half of the people live underground. They do this because it is very hot in summer, sometimes up to 47°C! Underground, they have kitchens, bedrooms, and living rooms. This is very unusual. In Coober Pedy, you can stay in underground hotels, visit shops and museums under the ground. There is also a golf course without grass, and the golf balls glow in the dark. I think it is a very cool and unusual place to visit!

Я хотел бы посетить Купер-Педи в Австралии. Это маленький город, и он очень интересный, потому что больше половины людей живут под землёй. Они так делают, потому что летом там очень жарко, иногда до 47°C! Под землёй у них есть кухни, спальни и гостиные. Это очень необычно. В Купер-Педи можно остановиться в подземных отелях, посетить магазины и музеи под землёй. Там также есть поле для гольфа без травы, а мячики для гольфа светятся в темноте. Я думаю, это очень классное и необычное место для посещения!
