   Hiisi was the master of the forest, sometimes he looked like a wild animal and sometimes like an old man. Hiisi was very cunning and liked to deceive people, so everyone was afraid of him.
   A poor brother was the brother of a rich man who had nothing to eat. One day the poor brother came to the rich man to ask for food. The rich brother gave him some meat, but he was not satisfied.
   The rich brother is the brother of the poor man who gave food.

   Many years ago there were two brothers. One brother was very rich and the other was very poor. One day the poor brother went to the rich brother to ask for food. The rich brother gave him some meat, but he was not satisfied. You can eat this meat or take it to Hiysi!’ Hiisi, as the Karelians believed, was the master of the forest; sometimes he looked like a wild beast and sometimes like an old man. Hiisi was very cunning and liked to deceive people, so everyone was afraid of him.
   The poor man listened to his brother and went into the forest to find Hiisi. He found him and gave him the meat. Hysy was very surprised. So the poor man asked Hiysi for a magic millstone. If you use the magic millstone, you will get anything you ask for. Hiysi was not pleased, but gave him the magic millstone as promised.
   The poor brother returned home and from that day he was no longer poor. He had everything he desired. His brother saw this and wanted the millstone. One day he asked his brother to give him the millstone for a while. He took the millstone with him and asked him to grind some salt for the fish. After a while, his brother fell asleep and forgot about the millstone. It fell into the sea and is still lying there grinding salt, and it won't stop. That is why the water in the sea is salty.
