THE GRASSHOPPER AND THE ANT

A Grasshopper lived in a field near a big forest. He liked to sing and dance very much. And he sang and danced all day long. When winter came and there was a lot of snow, the Grasshopper had nothing to eat. He was very hungry, so he went to visit the Ant and asked for some food.

“I worked all summer to collect my food,” said the Ant. “What did you do?”

“I was very busy singing and dancing,” answered the Grasshopper.

“Well, if you sing and dance all summer and do not work, then you must starve³ in winter,” answered the Ant.
